Captain of 1st XI Football 2021 - Logan Bunning
Hello, I’m Logan Bunning and I was honoured to have the role as 1st XI Football Captain, 2021.

In 2017 I enrolled to NPBHS. I was a shy, scrawny kid from Hawera and I was pushed into the hostel lifestyle. I stayed in the hostel until the end of Year 13 and made many lifelong friendships.

From day one I indulged myself into the sporting culture of the school. I was a keen sportsman and participated in many different codes but it was Football that I was most successful in. My first achievement that I earned through football was becoming the Junior Team Captain. However this wasn’t the end of my achievements at the school. In 2020 I was a part of the schools Super 8 and Taranaki Premiership winning team and in 2021 managing to get 2nd place at Super 8. The NPBHS staff, coaches and other players pushed me to become the best sportsman I can and I’m forever grateful for this.

As I’m now leaving the school, 5 years older than I was when I arrived, I wish to continue my footballing career. In 2022 I’m heading to Otago University to study health science and to continue to play football at a high level. I will bring the leadership, humility and many other skills the school has taught me to be the best man I can be.
