Old Boys’ contribute to BP Surf Rescue New Zealand Championships win.
In April more than 300 Surf Lifeguards took to Northland’s Ruakaka Beach to compete in the Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) New Zealand Surf Lifesaving Championships. IRB’s are used in a large number of rescues on New Zealand beaches every year.

The following Old Boys’ showcased their skill, technique and physical fitness in the challenging conditions over the 3-day event. Their podium finishes contributed to New Plymouth’s East End Surf Lifesaving Club taking out the top NZ club.

Medals won by Old Boys:

Liam Cole - Open Male (3 Golds) 

Jerome Novak – U23 Male (1 Gold, 2 Silver)

Brodie Lilley – U23 Male (1 Gold, 2 Silver)

Reef Robinson – U23 Male (3 Bronze)

William Luff - U23 Male (3 Bronze)


And students:

Josh Thorburn – (1 Gold, 1 Silver)

Rhys Donovan – (1 Gold)
